Macau says Nepalese are best Security Guards


Kathmandu - Macau has resumed hiring Nepalese workers, eight months after it stopped in order to create more job opportunities for locals, media reports said Saturday.
China's Macau Special Administrative Region recently recruited 200 Nepalese security guards, saying that no one could do the job as well as the 'Gorkha Force,' the Republica daily wrote.
It is the first time such a large number of workers from Nepal was called in at once to work in Macau.
Macau had stopped granting visas to Nepalese workers in mid-2010 after facing pressure from the trade unions to reduce the foreign labour force. Some 600 Nepalese lost their jobs at that time.
Around 2,000 Nepalese are employed in Macau as security guards. The island territory is considered the biggest casino hub in Asia.
